    I was born and raised in Charleston SC. I graduated in 1971 with a BS in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. I am married with a son and daughter. My hobbies include fishing, hunting, golfing, and all sports played by the Gamecocks. I enjoyed coaching my kids as they grew up from an early age to high school.

    I was employed as a salesman in 1971 for a metal fabrication company covering the eastern US. My customers were mostly in the manufacturing sector of textiles and tire industry. In 1978, I founded Custom Equipment Company as a Distributor and Manufacture’s representative for all industries and enjoy creating products that benefit my customers throughout the US.

    I am a 1996 Graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Business. Upon graduation, I began my sales career with Ferguson Enterprises working my way from inside sales to outside sales. I was responsible for starting and promoting a new business development unit with the newly formed underground utilities division in Bluffton, SC. I left this position in 2004 to pursue an opportunity with a smaller family owned business called Custom Equipment Company, which is where I remain today.

    I have continued my passion for business development through business to business relationships which I like to consider “Partnerships”. I bring value to my customers by providing a supply chain that not only delivers high quality products, but reliable delivery as well. I have a strong knowledge and emphasis in fields of returnable packaging, ergonomics, storage solutions and material handling as a whole. I like to be the “GO TO GUY” when someone needs help with any new projects or problems they are having. I look forward to bringing value to you through comprehensive analysis, consultation and solutions.

    Outside of my professional life, I have been happily married since 2004. My wife and I have 2 wonderful children that are in grade school and fill up our remaining time outside school. However, when I have time I do like to golf, hunt, serve in my community and attend USC football games. Go Cocks!

  • Heather Corbett

    Chief Operations Officer - Accounting / Human Resources / Sales Support / Logistics Coordinator

    I was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved to South Carolina when I was three. I graduated from Stratford High School and then went on to graduate from Trident Technical College where I studied bookkeeping. I began working with Custom Equipment Company in June 2012.

    I am responsible for processing all orders, handling customer service and managing shipments. I currently live in Summerville, SC with my husband and our three young children. We have two Boxers Sophie and Penny and a Yorkie, Oliver. In my spare time I enjoy running and coaching my children’s soccer teams. I also love to craft and make shirts.

    I was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC and attended the University of South Carolina. I graduated in 1972 with a BA in History and Business and went right to work. Since graduation I have been in and around the packaging business for the last 30+ years and have also served in the National Guard. I wanted to finish my career with a family owned company that I could bring value and expertise to so I am proud to be a member of the CEC team. I have completed the Afflink Inc.packaging certification exam and was awarded Certified Packaging Specialist ( CPS ) certificate. I look forward to bringing value to your organization by offering comprehensive solutions to any material handling and packaging needs you may have.

  • Austin Pearce

    Sales Representative - SC

    A native to Charleston, South Carolina and a graduate of Clemson University, Custom Equipment needs a little Orange Tiger blood to mix it up.  I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Packaging Science that included an emphasis area in business.  I have experience in the field at a major passenger car manufacturer as a Packaging Engineer Co-op, which was required for graduation. Following graduation, I started working here at Custom Equipment Company and am loving every minute of this new career. I enjoy the family feel of CEC and the quality of customer service that we bring.

    I have a passion for staying busy by being out of the office visiting customers and finding new clients. Working at CEC as an Account Executive, has been a great fit for me so far. I am eager to get customers that like doing business with me and can depend on me to find the most cost efficient solution.

    In my personal life, I enjoy hanging out with friends around the Charleston area.  I enjoy going out in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and being out on the water. I am a die-hard Clemson Tigers football fan and you can find me watching college football every Saturday in the fall, Go Tigers!

Prior to joining CEC, I worked in customer service and sales for several wireless phone companies and Contract Carpet. I currently reside in Mount Pleasant SC with my husband and 4 children.
